Taxi Málaga Airport → Marbella
Marbella's centre sits between the Paseo Marítimo and the Old Town, a maze of whitewashed lanes around Plaza de los Naranjos. From Málaga Airport the AP-7 motorway brings you to the Marbella exits in about 45 minutes; the toll-free A-7 adds around 15 minutes in summer traffic.
Prices by vehicle
| Vehicle | Total price (VAT included) |
|---|---|
| Sedan 1-4 passengers, 3 suitcases. | €75 |
| Estate 1-4 passengers, 5 suitcases or golf bags. | €90 |
| Minivan 5-8 passengers, 8 suitcases. | €113 |
One way, VAT included. Tolls are not included: we take the toll-free A-7 and, if you prefer the AP-7 motorway, the toll is paid separately. Return trips are exactly double.
Drop-off
Most of the Old Town is pedestrian. Your driver drops you at the closest access point to your hotel or apartment, usually around Plaza de la Victoria or Avenida Ricardo Soriano, and helps with luggage.
Arrivals hall of Terminal 3 at Málaga Airport. Your driver holds a sign with your name.
What awaits you
- Plaza de los Naranjos and the Old Town
- Paseo Marítimo and Avenida del Mar
- Alameda Park and the Bulevar
From the terminal to Marbella centre, exit by exit
Leaving Terminal 3 the car joins the MA-20 ring road and, within ten minutes, the AP-7 toll motorway westbound. The toll section runs uninterrupted past Fuengirola and Calahonda, so the 45-minute figure holds for most of the day. Your driver leaves the motorway at the Marbella Este junction and drops onto the Avenida Ricardo Soriano, the long avenue that runs through the centre parallel to the sea.
The only stretch that varies is the last one. Ricardo Soriano and the Avenida Ramón y Cajal carry local traffic, and between 13:00 and 15:00 or after 20:00 in July and August the final two kilometres can take as long as the previous twenty. On a weekday morning in May you will be at your door in under 45 minutes; on a Saturday evening in August allow 55.
Old Town, seafront or the avenues: where you will actually be dropped
Most of the Casco Antiguo is pedestrianised. If your apartment is inside the old walls, the closest a car can get is usually the Plaza de la Victoria side, the Calle Huerta Chica car park entrance or the top of Calle Ancha, and the driver walks with you to the door if the luggage is heavy. Tell us the street name when you book and we will choose the nearest legal stop rather than the one the satnav suggests.
Hotels and apartments along the Paseo Marítimo, La Fontanilla and the Avenida del Mar are simpler: vehicles stop on the seafront road or in the hotel forecourt. The residential blocks north of Ricardo Soriano, around Miraflores and the Plaza de Toros, have normal street access at any hour.
Arriving in Marbella with children or late at night
Families land at Málaga at every hour, and the town does not close. A late arrival means an empty motorway and a driver who has already checked your landing time, so a 23:40 flight still produces a 00:40 arrival at a hotel that has your name at the desk. Ask for the child seats you need in the form; they are fitted before the driver leaves Marbella, not improvised at the terminal.
If you are staying in a rented flat, have the key-holder's phone number to hand. Many Marbella lettings use a lockbox near the door; the driver will wait while you find it, and if the address turns out to be a side street with no vehicle access he will carry the bags the last few metres.

Local tips for your arrival
- Give us the street and number, not just the building name: Marbella repeats names such as Edificio Marbella Centro across several blocks.
- Old Town lettings often have a lockbox; keep the code on your phone, not only in an email you need wifi to open.
- If you land before 08:00 and your check-in is at 15:00, ask about leaving luggage at reception; most central hotels do this.
- Sunday mornings are the quietest time to arrive; Saturday changeover day is the busiest on Ricardo Soriano.
Back to the airport from Marbella
For the journey back we collect you at the hotel porch or the closest vehicle access to your flat, at the time you choose. From Marbella centre count 45 minutes to the terminal and add two hours for check-in and security, two and a half in summer or for flights outside the Schengen area such as the UK: for a 12:00 departure that means a pickup around 09:15. On Sunday afternoons in July and August the A-7 fills with beach traffic, so we suggest leaving fifteen minutes earlier.

How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Marbella?
A private sedan for up to 4 passengers costs €75 one way; the estate €90 and the minivan for up to 8 passengers €113. Prices include luggage and VAT. Tolls are not included: we take the toll-free A-7 and, if you prefer the AP-7 motorway, the toll is paid separately.
How long is the drive from Málaga Airport to Marbella?
About 45 minutes for 57 km, using the AP-7 motorway where available. Summer weekends can add 10 to 20 minutes.
Can you drop us off inside Marbella Old Town?
The Old Town is pedestrian, so we stop at the nearest vehicle access to your address and walk you through the last metres if needed. Tell us your hotel name when booking and the driver will plan the best stop.
Can the car reach my apartment inside Marbella Old Town?
Usually not to the door: the lanes around the Plaza de los Naranjos are closed to traffic. The driver stops at the closest access, typically Plaza de la Victoria, Huerta Chica or Calle Ancha, and walks the luggage with you if the flat is more than a few metres in.
Is the price the same to Marbella centre and to the Paseo Marítimo?
Yes. €75 for a sedan covers any address in Marbella town, from the old walls to the seafront hotels and the residential streets around the bullring, one way. Tolls are not included.
How long from landing to being in the car?
Between 20 and 45 minutes depending on passport control and the baggage belt. Your driver is already in the hall, so the 45-minute drive starts the moment you walk out, not the moment the plane lands.
Where does the driver meet me at Málaga Airport?
In the arrivals hall of Terminal 3, holding a sign with your name. All flights, including Terminal 2 arrivals, exit through the same hall.
