Into the Golf Valley: the road above Puerto Banús

Nueva Andalucía starts where the AP-7 ends its Marbella stretch. The driver leaves the motorway at the Puerto Banús junction and, instead of heading to the sea, turns inland at the Centro Plaza roundabout and climbs. From there the streets fan out through the Golf Valley: Las Brisas, Los Naranjos and Aloha on the west, La Quinta at the top, the Magna Marbella and El Rodeo residential areas nearer the A-7.

The 50 minutes from the terminal are almost all motorway; the climb through the valley adds five to ten depending on how high your villa sits. Streets here are wide, well signposted and quiet, but many properties are known by the estate name rather than a street, so the estate name plus the gate number is what we need from you.

Gated golf estates and how the driver gets in

Most of the valley is made up of gated urbanisations: Aloha Gardens, Los Naranjos Golf, Las Brisas Village, Marbella Hill Club and dozens of smaller communities. Each has a lodge or an intercom, and the guard needs the owner's name or a flat number. Our drivers do this every day and will not turn back at a closed barrier; if the lodge cannot find you they phone the key-holder with you rather than leaving you outside.

If you are in a villa with a private gate and a code, put the code in the notes of the booking. It is passed to the driver only, not printed on your confirmation email, and he uses it once to bring the car to your front door instead of the road outside.

Golf clubs, families and week-long villa stays

This is the most requested route for golfers in the whole of Marbella: Los Naranjos, Las Brisas, Aloha and La Quinta are all in the valley, with Magna Marbella and Dama de Noche a short hop away. For two players with clubs the estate car fits the bags flat; four players with clubs and hand luggage travel better in the minivan. Both prices are on this page. Neither includes the toll: the AP-7 is only used if you ask for it.

Villa rentals in Nueva Andalucía tend to be for a week or two and for larger groups. If you are arriving on two different flights, book two transfers and we coordinate the drivers so the second car is not waiting for the first family. Supermarkets and pharmacies are around Centro Plaza and the Aloha strip, so ask the driver to point them out on the way up.

Local tips for your arrival

• Write the estate name and the gate or house number in the address field; a street name alone often does not exist on the maps.
• Put the gate code in the notes of the booking, never in an email reply: only the driver sees the notes.
• Two golfers with clubs: estate car. Four golfers with clubs: minivan. Tell us the number of bags and we will confirm the vehicle.
• Arriving on different flights? Book one transfer per flight and mention it; we coordinate the drivers.

Back to the airport from Nueva Andalucía

For the flight home the driver comes up to the villa gate or the lodge of your estate at the agreed time; the descent to the A-7 and the motorway back to the airport take about 50 minutes. Add two hours at the terminal, or two and a half in July and August and for flights outside Schengen, so a 14:00 departure means leaving the valley around 11:10. If several golfers are travelling with clubs we allow a few extra minutes for loading, and the same vehicle type that brought you takes you back.
