The shortest Marbella transfer: 38 minutes and one exit
Elviria is the first of the Marbella beach districts you reach from the airport, well before the town itself. The driver stays on the AP-7 only as far as the Calahonda toll section, then follows the A-7 to the Elviria exit and turns down towards the sea at the roundabout by the commercial centre. Thirty-eight minutes from the arrivals hall, and the €65 fare is the lowest fixed price we offer in Marbella.
The district is split by the A-7. Below it lie Elviria Playa, the beachside apartment complexes and the hotels on the front; above it the streets climb through Elviria Hills and the Santa María Golf area to La Mairena, where the villas have views over the whole bay. The climb adds five to eight minutes to the top.
Beach clubs, family hotels and villas on the hill
Elviria's beach is long and sandy and its front is lined with hotels that were built for families: big pools, gardens and direct access to the sand. Arrivals there are simple, with a forecourt or a car park entrance. The beach clubs along the same stretch draw a very different crowd in the evening, and a late transfer will find the front-line road busier than the motorway.
Higher up, La Mairena and Elviria Hills are villa country with narrow, steep roads and gates. Give the estate name and the house number; the driver takes the car to the gate and helps with the bags on the slope. The Santa María Golf course sits between the two levels, and golfers with clubs travel best in the estate car.
Life in Elviria: what is within walking distance
The commercial centre at the motorway roundabout has supermarkets, a pharmacy, banks and cafés, all within a short walk of the beachside apartments, which makes Elviria one of the easiest places on the coast to stay without a car. The driver passes it on the way in and can stop briefly if you have asked for it in the booking.
Marbella town is nine kilometres west and the Cabopino marina five kilometres east; both are day trips rather than walks. The bus runs along the A-7 service road, but for an evening in Marbella most guests book a local car for the return, which we can arrange at a fixed price if you ask.

Local tips for your arrival
- Elviria is the cheapest Marbella destination we serve: if your hotel is on this beach, do not book the Marbella centre fare by mistake.
- Tell us if you are below the motorway (beach) or above it (Hills, La Mairena); the exit is the same but the last minutes differ.
- The commercial centre by the roundabout has everything for a first night; a short stop can be arranged in the booking notes.
- Villas in La Mairena have steep drives: the driver carries the bags to the door, so no need to book a bigger car for that.
Back to the airport from Elviria
Return pickups are at the hotel entrance or the villa gate, and the road back to the airport is the shortest of all our Marbella routes: 38 minutes. Allow two hours at the terminal, or two and a half in July and August and for flights to the UK and other non-Schengen destinations, so a 09:00 flight means a pickup at about 06:20. From La Mairena add five minutes for the descent.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Elviria?
A private sedan for up to 4 passengers costs €65 one way; the estate €78 and the minivan for up to 8 passengers €98. Prices include luggage and VAT. Tolls are not included: we take the toll-free A-7 and, if you prefer the AP-7 motorway, the toll is paid separately.
How long is the drive from Málaga Airport to Elviria?
About 38 minutes for 48 km, using the AP-7 motorway where available. Summer weekends can add 10 to 20 minutes.
Is Elviria cheaper than Marbella centre?
Yes. Elviria is about 10 km closer to the airport than Marbella centre, and our fixed fare reflects that.
Why is Elviria cheaper than Marbella centre?
Because it is closer to the airport: 48 kilometres against 57, and the driver leaves the motorway earlier. The €65 sedan fare covers luggage and VAT. The toll section as far as Calahonda is not included: we take the toll-free A-7 unless you ask for the motorway.
Does the Elviria price cover La Mairena and Elviria Hills?
Yes. Everything reached from the Elviria exit, from the beach to the top of La Mairena, is €65 for a sedan. The climb adds a few minutes but nothing to the fare.
Is there a direct bus from the airport to Elviria?
There is no direct service; the airport bus goes to Marbella bus station and you would need a second leg back east. A private transfer takes 38 minutes door to door and is the usual choice for families with luggage.
Where does the driver meet me at Málaga Airport?
In the arrivals hall of Terminal 3, holding a sign with your name. All flights, including Terminal 2 arrivals, exit through the same hall.
