Sierra Blanca, Cascada de Camoján and Nagüeles

Taxi Málaga Airport → Sierra Blanca

Sierra Blanca is the gated hillside above the Golden Mile, with some of the most valuable villas in Spain and views over the whole bay. The last kilometres are steep residential roads, so we always confirm the exact villa before you land.

Up the hill above the Golden Mile

Sierra Blanca is the gated hillside estate that rises directly above the Golden Mile, on the slopes of La Concha mountain. From the airport the route is the Marbella run to the Marbella junction, then up from the Bulevar at the Sierra Blanca roundabout to the main gate. Forty-eight minutes from the arrivals hall, at €79, the same fare as the Golden Mile below it.

Once through the gate the roads wind up in loops, and villas are identified by plot numbers and street names that mean little outside the estate. The driver has done this climb hundreds of times; what he needs from you is the exact villa name or number as it appears on your rental agreement, and the phone number of whoever holds the key.

Security gates, registered guests and villa access

Sierra Blanca, Cascada de Camoján and the neighbouring estates run manned gates around the clock. Guests are expected to be registered by the owner or agent; the guard checks the name and lets the car in. If the registration has not been done, the driver waits with you while the lodge phones the owner rather than dropping you outside a barrier with your bags.

For villas with their own gate the code can go in the notes of your booking. Only the driver sees it, and he uses it to bring the car up the drive, which matters on plots where the front door is thirty metres above the road.

Who stays in Sierra Blanca and how they travel

Bookings to Sierra Blanca are mostly villa weeks: families of six or eight, or two couples sharing a house with staff. The minivan takes eight passengers and eight cases; for larger parties we send two vehicles that leave the airport together. The estate has no shops, so a stop at the supermarkets on the Golden Mile side can be arranged if you mention it when booking.

The reward for the climb is the view, over the whole of Marbella to Gibraltar on a clear day, and the silence. The beach and the Bulevar restaurants are five minutes down the hill, which is why a fixed-price local car for an evening out is a common second booking.

Local tips for your arrival

  • Ask the owner or agent to register your names with the Sierra Blanca lodge before you fly; it saves ten minutes at the gate.
  • Villa gate codes go in the booking notes, which only the driver receives.
  • Groups over eight: book two vehicles and we send them together from the airport.
  • No shops on the hill: mention a supermarket stop when booking and the driver plans it on the Golden Mile.

Back to the airport from Sierra Blanca

For the flight home the driver comes up through the gate to the villa at the agreed time; the descent and the AP-7 back to the airport take 48 minutes. Allow two hours at the terminal, or two and a half in high season and for non-Schengen flights, so a 16:00 departure means leaving the villa at about 13:10. Tell the lodge the pickup time the evening before so the barrier is expected to open for our car.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Sierra Blanca?

A private sedan for up to 4 passengers costs €79 one way; the estate €95 and the minivan for up to 8 passengers €119. Prices include luggage and VAT. Tolls are not included: we take the toll-free A-7 and, if you prefer the AP-7 motorway, the toll is paid separately.

How long is the drive from Málaga Airport to Sierra Blanca?

About 48 minutes for 60 km, using the AP-7 motorway where available. Summer weekends can add 10 to 20 minutes.

Do you offer a discreet service for private villas?

Yes. Unmarked premium vehicles, drivers in plain dark clothing and no signage on the car. Just mention it in the booking notes.

Will the driver be allowed into Sierra Blanca?

Yes, as long as your name is on the guest list at the lodge, which the owner or agent arranges. If it is missing, the driver waits with you while the guard phones the owner; we do not leave passengers at the barrier.

Is Sierra Blanca more expensive than the Golden Mile because of the climb?

No. Both are €79 for a sedan. The estate is reached from the Golden Mile roundabout and the extra few minutes uphill are included.

We are ten people with luggage; can you do it in one vehicle?

The largest single vehicle is the minivan for eight. For ten we send a minivan and a sedan that leave the terminal together; you pay each at its fixed price, €119 and €79 one way.

Where does the driver meet me at Málaga Airport?

In the arrivals hall of Terminal 3, holding a sign with your name. All flights, including Terminal 2 arrivals, exit through the same hall.
