Two golf courses, one river and the road between them
Guadalmina lies immediately west of San Pedro Alcántara, across the Guadalmina river, and is organised around the two courses of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, Norte and Sur. From the airport the driver takes the AP-7 through the San Pedro tunnel and leaves at the Guadalmina exit; 55 minutes from the terminal, €95 for a sedan, identical to San Pedro.
The coastal road divides the area. Guadalmina Baja, on the sea side, is a grid of large villa plots between the Sur course and the beach, with the hotel at the end by the sand. Guadalmina Alta, inland, climbs around the Norte course with townhouses and apartment complexes, and Casasola sits at the far western end towards Estepona.
Villa plots, unnumbered streets and the beach end
Guadalmina Baja was laid out decades ago as a villa estate, and many of its streets are named after letters or plants rather than numbers. Rental descriptions often give only the villa name; that is fine for us, but add the street if you have it and the phone number of the agent. The driver enters from the coastal road and, since there is no perimeter gate, drives straight to the door.
The beach at the bottom of Guadalmina Baja is broad and quiet, with a promenade that continues east to San Pedro and Puerto Banús. Families with a pushchair can walk the whole way; for the return journey with luggage the driver comes to the villa, not the beach road.
Golfers first: bags, tee times and early starts
A large share of our Guadalmina bookings are golf trips. Two players with clubs and cases fit in the estate car with the bags flat; four players go in the minivan. If your first tee time is on the day you land, tell us: the driver can drop the golfers at the club house on the way and take the luggage on to the villa, as long as it is mentioned in the booking notes.
Early starts are common here and the estate is easy to leave before dawn, with the AP-7 a couple of minutes away. The same vehicle type that brought you takes you back, and the fare is exactly the same in both directions.

Local tips for your arrival
- Give the villa name and, if you have it, the street: Guadalmina Baja streets are lettered, not numbered.
- First tee time on arrival day? Put it in the notes and the driver drops golfers at the club house before delivering the luggage.
- Baja is beach side, Alta is inland: say which so the driver takes the right side of the coastal road.
- The promenade to San Pedro is flat and stroller-friendly, three kilometres each way.
Back to the airport from Guadalmina
For the return the driver comes to the villa door in Baja or the complex entrance in Alta and is on the AP-7 within minutes; the airport is 55 minutes away. Allow two hours at the terminal, two and a half in summer and for flights outside Schengen, so a 10:30 flight means a pickup around 07:25. Golfers leaving straight from the course can be collected at the club house instead of the villa if you tell us the day before.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Guadalmina?
A private sedan for up to 4 passengers costs €95 one way; the estate €114 and the minivan for up to 8 passengers €143. Prices include luggage and VAT. Tolls are not included: we take the toll-free A-7 and, if you prefer the AP-7 motorway, the toll is paid separately.
How long is the drive from Málaga Airport to Guadalmina?
About 55 minutes for 72 km, using the AP-7 motorway where available. Summer weekends can add 10 to 20 minutes.
Can you pick us up at Guadalmina and drop us at Málaga train station instead of the airport?
Yes. Málaga María Zambrano station and the cruise port are also available as origin or destination in the booking form.
Is Guadalmina the same price as San Pedro Alcántara?
Yes, €95 for a sedan to either. Guadalmina has its own page because the golf courses and the villa layout raise different questions, but the exit is next to San Pedro's and the fare is identical.
Can the driver drop golfers at the club and the bags at the villa?
Yes, if you ask for it in the booking notes. The club house is on the way into the estate, so the detour is a couple of minutes and there is no extra charge for the stop.
Which vehicle for four golfers with clubs?
The minivan, €143 one way, with room for four golf bags and four suitcases. Two golfers with clubs travel comfortably in the estate car at €114.
Where does the driver meet me at Málaga Airport?
In the arrivals hall of Terminal 3, holding a sign with your name. All flights, including Terminal 2 arrivals, exit through the same hall.
