The resort strip of Novo Sancti Petri and the town behind it

Chiclana is a large inland town, and Sancti Petri is its coast: the Novo Sancti Petri resort area with a row of big hotels behind the La Barrosa beach, the old fishing village of Sancti Petri by the marina, and the residential estates in between. From Málaga the drive is 155 minutes: motorway to Guadiaro, the N-340 past Tarifa, the A-48 north past Conil, and the exit for Chiclana with a final ten kilometres to the coast. The €269 fare does not include tolls: the AP-7 sections are paid separately if you choose that road.

Nearly all our bookings here are for the hotels of Novo Sancti Petri, which have proper forecourts and are spaced along a single avenue behind the beach. Give us the hotel name and the driver goes to the reception entrance; the beach itself, La Barrosa, is eight kilometres of sand with a promenade at the town end.

La Barrosa, the marina and the Chiclana estates

La Barrosa beach runs from the town end, with apartment blocks and a promenade, to the quieter stretches by the resorts and the Sancti Petri marina at the southern tip, where boats leave for the island castle. Between the beach and the town, estates such as La Loma del Puerco and the golf urbanisations have barriers; villa rentals there need the estate name and the house number.

Chiclana town itself, ten minutes inland, is a working town with a Tuesday market and the services the coast lacks. If your rental is in the town rather than on the coast, the fare is the same and the driver leaves the A-48 at the same exit.

Golf, all-inclusive weeks and the last stop before Cádiz

The Novo Sancti Petri hotels are built around golf courses and long-stay holidays, and many of our passengers arrive with clubs. Two players with bags fit the estate car; four go in the minivan with the bags flat. The courses are inside the resort area, so a drop at the club house on arrival is a short detour if you ask for it.

Sancti Petri is twenty-five minutes from Cádiz city and forty from Jerez, which makes it a practical base for the whole bay. For day trips we quote fixed prices; for a week on the beach the hotels are self-contained, and the promenade at the town end has the restaurants.

Local tips for your arrival

  • Hotel name is enough for Novo Sancti Petri: the resorts line one avenue and the driver goes to reception.
  • Villa estates between the beach and the town have barriers: add the estate name and the agency's phone.
  • Golf on arrival day? Mention the club in the notes and the driver drops players first.
  • 48 hours' notice for this route; Cádiz city is 25 minutes further if you want a fixed price for a day trip.

Back to the airport from Chiclana and Sancti Petri

For the return the driver collects you at the hotel reception or the estate barrier and takes the A-48, the N-340 and the AP-7 back to Málaga in 155 minutes. Add two hours at the terminal, two and a half in summer and for flights outside Schengen, so a 19:00 flight means leaving Sancti Petri at about 14:25. Tell reception the pickup time the evening before so the luggage is at the entrance.

About 155 minutes for 225 km, using the AP-7 motorway where available. Summer weekends can add 10 to 20 minutes.

How far in advance should we book a transfer to Sancti Petri?

For long routes we recommend booking at least 48 hours ahead so we can guarantee the vehicle and send you the fixed quote.

Yes, to the reception entrance of any hotel on the resort avenue, in about 155 minutes for €269 with a sedan. Give us the hotel name and the flight number and we track the arrival.

Is Chiclana town the same price as Sancti Petri?

Yes. The fare covers the municipality: the town, the coast at Sancti Petri and La Barrosa, and the estates between them. The driver uses the same motorway exit for all of them.

Which airport is closer to Sancti Petri, Málaga or Jerez?

Jerez is closer, about 45 minutes, but has few flights. Málaga is 155 minutes away and has the widest choice of routes and times, which is why many families still fly there and book the transfer.
